Waiting on God's plans

Ten years ago today, I married my beautiful wife JoAnna. I had been single for a number of years after going through a very bad relationship. Before JoAnna and I met, I didn't think there was anyone out there that would love me for me, or would be by my side through it all.

Realistically I had set the conditions for finding someone pretty high, simple but high. I had a cousin who was sick for years and his wife stayed by his side right to the end of his life. I was looking for what I called, a be with me even when I can't wipe the drool from my mouth kind of love, you know an unconditional love.

Lucky for me God had the perfect plan, and love for me, all I had to do was be patient and wait for her blue eyes to shine my way. Both of us had been in relationships we had planned for ourselves, but I know my life will never be the same after finding the love and life God had planned for me.

Today we are celebrating our tenth anniversary. I know years from now, as we are watching the sunset on our front porch while celebrating our fiftieth, our love will be strong and true, not because we had the perfect plan, but because God had made us for each other.

I know this isn't my normal weekly writing, but I know with two joined together, believing in all God has planned for you, nothing is impossible. I truly believe God brought us together and will continue to work in our lives. I pray to God each day and give thanks for crossing our paths.

Ephesians 5:22-33
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.
